The PS3 Slim's Blu-ray player has been updated. Overall the new console generates less heat and runs quieter. Support for Linux O/S installations has been removed. As before with the 40GB and 80GB PS3 models, backwards compatibility with PlayStation games was not reintroduced on the Slim PS3 console.
