A new PS3 is to be released in the Europe on 27th August 2008. The new PS3 80GB will replace the 40GB version. Sony annoucned the new 80GB console will have all the features of the 40GB. This sadly suggests it will not be compatible with PS2 Games. Perhaps a PS4 could be arriving sooner than you'd expect! HMV are the only store taking pre-orders so far (£299.99).

	No, it doesn’t look like the 80gb PS3 will have a free dualshock 3 controller as standard either. All we know from the press release is that it features the same functionality as the 40gb PS3. But I should hold of buying one until the newer 80gb is released.

	i saw the new ps3 80gb in sainsburys, the box tells you now with new dualshock 3. hey! sainsburys don't do online bundles.

	I swapped the image for a clearer shot. Here's the new package in all its glory. Shame, about Sainsbury there was better deals on here.

	i'm trying not to feel completely shafted. i only just bought the 40gb ps3, after saving up for 2 years! no mention of the 80gb ps3 on the PLAYSTATION®Network, then from nowhere here it is.

	ice-gold, its not that bad. from what i've read, sony needed to boost ps3 production, so they bought out a new 80gb playstation. you can always link it to a psp if you get bored.
